What a glorious day! This was my thought as I felt the crushing weight of fear leave me. Some time ago, while on the way home from work, I felt a severe pain in my chest in the region of the heart. Besides the pain, my left side felt numb. There was an almost overwhelming fear. I immediately turned to my understanding of Christian Science for help and prayed to God. I continued my trip homeward repeating "the scientific statement of being" as found in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. This statement concludes with these words (p. 468): "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."

Upon arriving home I called for the help of a Christian Science practitioner. She began prayerful treatment immediately. As I read the Bible and Science and Health, I felt the fear subside and the words at the beginning of this testimony filled my thought. I saw myself as a spiritual being with greater clarity than ever before. The consciousness of God as divine Love that engulfed me, that lifted me up and out of the mortal fear and mortal limited thought, was such a blessed experience that it is indescribable, I knew immediately that I was all right; indeed, with this love all about me, I could be no other way. I spent the next two days reading and studying the Bible and Science and Health. I no longer saw myself as an ill mortal but as the spiritual reflection of divine Love.

The third day after this incident I returned to work. The healing was a wonderful event. Three weeks later I had the great pleasure of having Christian Science class instruction.
