The opening words of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures...
The opening words of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, are deeply significant to me (Pref., p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."
In 1921, a doctor who had been treating me for eleven months told my husband that if he wanted me to live he should have a specialist attend me. At that time I was suffering from a severe heart ailment, nervousness bordering on epilepsy, a bad hernia, and a fallen stomach. I was in the habit of taking sleeping medicine.
We went to another city, found an apartment, and made an appointment with a doctor. On Friday, a woman living in the apartment house asked if she might talk to me. She told me about Christian Science and also about the healings her family had had.
