WITNESSING FOR TRUTH
"Go ye into all the world," the Master said,
"Preach the gospel. Heal the sick." When,
Obediently, I journeyed down the way that led
To the marketplace and all the haunts of men,
I found no one would listen when I spoke of him
Who healed and blessed mankind. "You may come again,"
They said, "when days are not so filled up to the brim
With important activities. This regimen
We must not, cannot interrupt."
It is a gift,
I thought, the power to draw men to the Truth. For me.
The only way to serve is to humbly lift
Truth's standard high in my own life. But suddenly,
Mankind, wearied by turmoil of material living,
Began a pilgrimage to my door, to say,
"Share with us this Truth that heals and is giving
You such peace. Is this indeed the Christ, this ray
Of light we see reflected in your face?"
Each hour
Men live the Truth they bear witness to its power.
