Sunshine in Her Heart
Jane opened her eyes with a moan and a grumble.
It was Saturday morning, not usually a day for grumbling. She was supposed to meet a group of friends from the Christian Science Sunday School at nine o'clock. This would be the last of their warm weather weekend outings together. They had had fun all spring and summer with picnics, bicycle hikes, swimming parties, tennis matches, and Softball games. Today they were going to an amusement park.
Where was the warm sunshine this morning? The day was gray and drizzly. "A good day to stay home," she said, sounding not one bit like herself. She hadn't felt her usual self when she went to bed the night before either, and this morning she counted all the symptoms of a very annoying cold.
