For many months I had had medical treatment for nervous debility in a severe form, and for a stomach ulcer which did not yield to medical treatment. Although Christian Science was offered to our family, I would not accept its teachings. Instead, I was very opposed and showed my antagonism.

However, I had been searching for a religion which could give me a logical understanding of God. Although I had been brought up in a Christian home, had attended church all my life, and had looked into different sects, I was not satisfied. One morning, with the help of a dear friend, I was to find this need already supplied by divine Love.

I felt I was being drawn as by a magnet to my first Christian Science service. I listened with all humility and was lifted up in thought by Christ Jesus' words (Matt. 6:25-33): "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink...But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." My earth weights began to drop away. Tears of joy and gratitude replaced fear and dread of the future as I sallied forth to eat my first normal meal in many months. I was instantaneously healed, for I had touched the Christ, Truth.
