Some Thoughts About Hair

Generally hair is not thought of as having any close relatedness to God; yet only God is primarily responsible for all that is useful and good. Christ Jesus said, unequivocally, that all the hairs of our head are numbered. What causes man's completeness is ever responsible for each detail essential to that completeness. In our public library I find authority for saying that a fair average of the number of hairs on a healthy scalp is about 120,000.

In the large human family there are more than a few who do not presently have as much hair as they once had. Usually they regret the loss and often wear wigs to cover the vacant places— evidence that human thought generally accepts the desirability of normal heads of hair.

In expounding the nature of creation and man, Christian Science teaches that basically everything is a manifestation of Mind. Further, that the material sense of man and things is the material mind's counterfeit of the divine Mind's spiritual and permanent concept of God's making. Says Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, "Every material belief hints the existence of spiritual reality." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 60;
