"From every blemish free"

[For young teens]

If you're longing for a blemish-free complexion, you will find the perfect recipe in the Bible story that tells how Naaman was healed of leprosy (see II Kings, Chap. 5).

Naaman was a great captain of the Syrian army. Among his many servants was a little slave girl taken captive when the Syrians invaded Israel. Although this girl lived almost one thousand years before Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount, she lived up to its precept, "Love your enemies." Matt. 5:44;

Instead of harboring a sense of resentment and rebellion against those who had enslaved her, she expressed pity and concern for her master. One day she said to Naaman's wife, "Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy." Her thought was not only filled with compassion but also with beautiful childlike trust in the efficacy of spiritual healing.
