Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on May 4, 1969.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed (Ps. 103:6)

The Hebrew word here rendered "righteousness" is often used in the sense of "righteousness in a case or cause" or, again, of "righteousness as vindicated, justification, salvation." Moffatt suggests the rendering, "The Eternal vindicates the cause of any who are wronged."

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him (Ps. 103:13)
