Establishing a Better Body

It is helpful to have a right concept of body in order to do the best healing work. We are so accustomed to thinking of our body as flesh that it is sometimes difficult to see clearly the spiritual body of which Paul wrote, "There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."  I Cor. 15:44;

In accord with the Scriptures, Christian Science teaches that man is the image of God, who is Spirit, Life, Mind. Man is therefore spiritual, not fleshly, and true body is that which manifests infinite Mind and Life. Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health, "The author has healed hopeless organic disease, and raised the dying to life and health through the understanding of God as the only Life."  Science and Health, p. 428;

The truth that God, Spirit, is the only Mind and Life comes today to save all who turn to this truth with understanding, faith, and dependence. Like Paul, we can say, "We look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body." Phil. 3:20, 21; The word "vile" used here may be translated from the Greek as "inferior" or "lowly," and it reminds us of Christ Jesus' statement, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing." John 6:63;
