PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL LIGHT
O Lord, help me reflect Thy innate shining
As rays show forth the nature of the sun,
Let me with Christly qualities combining
Express Thy splendor, Thou most radiant One.
When turned away from light we see our shadows;
Let me not shift from Thee to darkened sense,
But keep my face toward heaven's sunlit meadows
Illumined by divine intelligence.
Then in the hour when fear or condemnation
Casts down some heart in gloom that it has wrought,
I can attest the glory of creation
And lend a lantern of enkindled thought.
