Drugs Can't Do It!

[For young adults]

A person may think that he can experiment with narcotics and psychedelic drugs, believing that they can help him find the meaning of life. He may think that this type of adventure or experience will take him beyond the ordinary limits of the five senses. But do the properties of matter really expand the thought processes of anyone to the point where he beholds unseen truths?

Mrs. Eddy, who discovered the scientific truths underlying the extraordinary healing experiences of Christ Jesus says of him: "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe. He plunged beneath the material surface of things, and found the spiritual cause." Science and Health, p. 313;

Jesus saw reality. He knew who he was and where he was going. But there is no record that he ever used drugs or recommended their use as an agent for opening human consciousness to perceive reality. Being physical elements drugs cannot carry us beyond the material state. They merely affect the physical body through a false belief that mind is mortal, centered in brain and nerves.
