RADIO PROGRAM NO. 338 - Overcoming Fear Of Recurring Disease

[The speaker is Michael Thorneloe, who is active in the healing ministry of Christian Science. The questioner is William Dawley.]

Questioner: Somebody who has come out of a serious disease may do his best to resume his normal responsibilities and activities without fear. But many times such an individual finds that he is faced with constant fear of a recurrence of the disease. He may have regular checkups and perhaps even make extensive changes in his style of living, but he's still afraid.
Speaker: Well, we certainly should not ignore the situation. But the real basis for beginning to overcome the fear of a recurring disease is the deep regeneration of thought that is brought out in the Bible.

In the New Testament we read that Paul says (Col. 3:9, 10), "Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." This renewal is based on a knowledge or an understanding of the nature of God and on seeing man as God's image.
