More than fifty years ago a neighbor brought me a copy of the Sentinel. I read it the night my daughter came down with scarlet fever. By morning she was healed. I telephoned the health department. When the doctor came, he was amazed at her healing.

After that my daughter was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, and soon I became a member of The Mother Church. Now her children have attended Sunday School, and most recently my oldest grandson took his children to the Sunday School. This is the third generation to be blessed by early training in Christian Science.

On a cargo liner I was thrown against a door and to the floor. A passenger who was a trained nurse claimed I had suffered a skull fracture. I did not accept that. Understanding there are no accidents in the divine Mind, as we are taught in Christian Science, I asked to be taken to my cabin. Left alone, I pondered the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being." The latter ends with these words of Mrs. Eddy regarding man's spiritual nature (Science and Health, p. 468): "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." I also thought of Jesus' promise (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The pain left me, and I was healed.
