How to individualize God's Infinite Power
Christian Science is a very practical religion. It shows one how to spiritualize his every thought and act in order to utilize God's infinite power to change, correct, heal, and enrich his experience.
Mrs. Eddy writes, "The honest student of Christian Science is purged through Christ, Truth, and thus is ready for victory in the ennobling strife." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 41; This strife may seem demanding to some, but later in the same paragraph Mrs. Eddy adds, "Mental purgation must go on: it promotes spiritual growth, scales the mountain of human endeavor, and gains the summit in Science that otherwise could not be reached,—where the struggle with sin is forever done."
Christian Science promises that spiritualized thought will bring victory—the same kind of fruitage witnessed previously in Bible times when the great prophets and Christ Jesus and his followers individually demonstrated infinite power to accomplish many miraculous feats and wonderful works of healing. Their commitment to serve God and mankind made them ready spiritually to call into action, as needs dictated, infinite power to do such things as dry a path of escape through a sea, instantly provide food for hungering multitudes, and restore health and life to numberless people who were sick and dying.
