Dominion over the Hidden Foe
How wonderful it is to realize that no matter how obscure or hidden the seeming cause of trouble may be the penetrating realization of God's absolute goodness and man's reflected dominion brings complete victory! Mrs. Eddy writes: "Lurking error, lust, envy, revenge, malice, or hate will perpetuate or even create the belief in disease. Errors of all sorts tend in this direction. Your true course is to destroy the foe, and leave the field to God, Life, Truth, and Love, remembering that God and His ideas alone are real and harmonious." Science and Health, p. 419;
What a perfect illustration of the way we are to handle aggressive suggestion that hides itself in the obscure recesses of mortal consciousness! Its method of operation is to camouflage itself as our own thinking and then await the opportunity to attack health and happiness.
To ward off this lurking foe to God-centered thinking and acting, we must first detect the specific error that is to be dealt with. God, supreme and infinite Mind, is the only intelligence of man and the universe. In this divinely good intelligence there is no room for evil in any form. Therefore whatever seems to limit or obscure the ever-presence of God's loving-kindness is a denial of spirituality.
