A True Sense of Worth

Everything in the Science of being reflects the self-sustaining divine Principle and includes a true sense of worth. Each individual is worthy of the Father's love and care. And this fact is reflected in human experience as a right sense of value, a right sense of respect, a right sense of ability. There are no superfluous ideas in true creation.

The foremost quality of divine Mind, God, is intelligence; and His creation manifests this quality. Everything God creates has intelligent purpose and therefore reflects conscious worth. As one comes to understand his relation to God as His child, the reflection of His qualities, he gains in self-respect, in his ability to produce or render service, in his contribution to the progress of society. Just think of the benediction bestowed on the individual in that statement from Genesis: "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31;

One area in which these facts may be applied is the unfolding of one's vocation or job. A true sense of worth comes from within the individual and is not bestowed on someone from without. In any vocation value comes from one's ability to produce. Christ Jesus said, "Whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance." Matt. 13:12; If one gets such basic facts set in his thinking, he will be able to progress more rapidly than before, and he will help to adjust the seeming inequities, the injustices that often appear in human experience.
