The Need to Know God

Today there is a great need for humanity to be mentally alert so as not to be misled by the increasing secularization of society. In many countries the level of material affluence and well-being is so high that spiritual values are being crowded out. The need to know God and His righteous laws is being stifled by false values and a feverish attempt to accumulate material possessions.

The mission of Christian Science is to show mankind that existence has a deeper and more satisfying meaning than material sense testimony would indicate. This Science reveals the profound depths of spiritual reality and how it can be practically applied to human experience. It reveals the true basis of health and unfolds an inner peace, joy, and completeness no material possessions or circumstances can possibly give.

The Bible teaches that man's real identity is spiritual. The record of creation in Genesis states that God, Spirit, made man in His own image; and Christian Science teaches that the individual will never find true fulfillment until he understands and loves God, and perceives his own real spiritual selfhood eternally at one with its divine sources. Humanity must look Godward if it is to find true riches and the inner harmony that will destroy disease, sin, and, finally, the seeming need to die.
