"Why are ye so fearful?"

Christ Jesus often rebuked his followers for their fears. He said, "Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?"Mark 4:40; He admonished them more than once not to be afraid but to trust the loving Father, to have faith such as would move mountains.

True faith is not merely an intellectual acceptance of the fact that God exists. Great numbers of men take His existence for granted and yet are frequently harassed by fears because they believe in the reality of matter and evil, which are plainly the opposite of Spirit, God. True faith calls upon us to get rid of materialism; to trust God, divine Love, completely; to know Him as infinite Mind; to demonstrate the divine nature of Christ, Truth, in our lives; to organize our whole lives upon the spiritual understanding of eternal Life and Love.

One who is seeking inspiration finds his faith enlarged and strengthened by thoughtful study of the eleventh chapter of the Epistle to the Hebrews. Here the writer gives an interesting discourse on the accomplishments of numerous Scriptural characters made possible through faith. Through faith Enoch was translated; Noah built an ark and saved his family; Abraham through faith sought and found a spiritual inheritance. Jacob, Moses, David, Samuel, and others are mentioned in this letter as having given worthy and illustrious examples of the power of living faith. They conquered fear through trust in God.
