Following the occasion of the centennial of the discovery of Christian Science, I desire to express gratitude to God, for Christ Jesus the Way-shower, for Mary Baker Eddy, and for The Mother Church for the great love it is spreading throughout the world. I am particularly grateful for all the benefits received during the thirty-three years I have studied this Science.

When I became acquainted with Christian Science, I was like the man who was found by Jesus beside the pool of Bethesda, without hope of recovery, a paralytic, given up by the medical, naturopathic, and homeopathic systems. After two years of wandering through different hospitals, upon the advice of a friend I consulted a Christian Science practitioner, who alleviated my pain immediately, and in forty-five days I was able to return to my work.

Years later, while working, I fell headfirst upon concrete from a height of twelve feet. This resulted in loss of consciousness, injury to my head, ribs, and an arm, and the laceration of a leg. When I recovered consciousness, I refused all material assistance and asked a practitioner for help. This took place at seven in the evening. The following day at six in the morning I was working again.
