I am very grateful to Christian Science for the help it has been to me in my life. It has helped and sustained me over the loss of loved ones. I have had several healings with the help of a Christian Science practitioner.
One healing that stands out occurred three or four years ago. I had to go into town to do some shopping; and, as it was the Christmas season, every place was terribly busy. As I made my way out of a crowded store to go toward the station, I had to pass through revolving doors. I seemed to become wedged for a few seconds before I managed to step out. I felt crushed and as if I could not get my breath. After a few moments of declaring the truths that we are taught in Christian Science—that there are no accidents in divine Mind and that God is the only power—I managed to make my way to the train and finally home. I gradually began to feel more like myself, and so thought no more of it until the following day.
In carrying out my usual household tasks I found I could not stoop without having a sharp pain in my side. This continued for two days, and then I realized I must ask for Christian Science treatment to quiet my fear. The condition seemed to be a cracked rib. The practitioner told me to read all I could of our Christian Science literature, and this I did. For a week I left all the routine tasks I could. I felt really uplifted and refreshed in spirit. I then proceeded with my normal household duties; and, to my joy, I found I could do everything comfortably. I was overwhelmed with gratitude to God for this healing. The matter was not mentioned to anyone but the practitioner until I gave my testimony of healing at the Wednesday evening meeting in our branch church.
