The first time I asked a Christian Science practitioner for a treatment...
The first time I asked a Christian Science practitioner for a treatment for myself I was permanently healed of chronic sinus trouble. At this particular time I was suffering much discomfort, and one of my eyes was noticeably inflamed. We were in an automobile returning from visiting a member of the family who was under the care of the practitioner. I mentioned my problem to the practitioner and rather doubtingly asked for treatment just before she got out of the car. Shortly after we arrived home, I began feeling much better, and when I looked in the mirror, I saw that all the inflammation was gone.
All seemed well, and yet I was not satisfied. I thought the relief might have come from being indoors, out of the cold weather, which always aggravated the condition. At that time my husband was getting ready to take our dog for a walk, and I had a great desire to join him and test the healing. A thought so strong that it almost seemed like another voice urged me to "go out and see." We walked for about an hour through a mild snowstorm. I did not even wear a hat. When we returned, I was still perfectly well.
I was so excited about the healing that I called the practitioner immediately. She was not at home, but her husband took the message, and instead of his joining in my excitement, he was quite matter-of-fact. That was most impressive to me. I realized that physical healings through prayer were a normal part of their experience. And here I would like to say that during the years since this occurrence, physical healings through prayer have been very much a part of our experience too. But there was never any need to seek additional healing prayer for sinus trouble. Though I had suffered from it intermittently through several years, there was never a return of the problem after that first treatment.
