Throughout my life I have depended upon Christian Science...
Throughout my life I have depended upon Christian Science to meet my every need. I can never be grateful enough for the help it gave my husband and me in rearing our three children to adulthood. Through the years we have had many proofs of God's loving care in the solving of problems of human relationships as well as of physical discords. It has always been such a comfort to me to know that no matter what may seem to appear to the contrary, God's perfect universe is always present as a spiritual fact to be recognized.
Several years ago we noticed that our little granddaughter was showing signs of malocclusion, her lower teeth closing over her upper teeth. Our son, who was her father, and I realized we must not accept this condition as being true of man and could not be mesmerized into believing that anything concerning a spiritual idea, which man is, could be misplaced or out of place. We both knew that if we could see this truth clearly enough the illusion would cease to be. In truth, we reasoned, man is governed by God's perfect law, and we knew that this truth understood and realized would adjust the human situation.
There were two statements in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy which were very helpful. This one is on page 512: "From the infinite elements of the one Mind emanate all form, color, quality, and quantity, and these are mental, both primarily and secondarily." The other, on page 281, reads, "The one Ego, the one Mind or Spirit called God, is infinite individuality, which supplies all form and comeliness and which reflects reality and divinity in individual spiritual man and things."
