The great blessing of Christian Science has been inestimable to me in rearing a family. When a large front door slammed on the finger of our five-year-old son and almost severed a portion of the finger, I called a practitioner. As a result of her declarations of Truth, the boy's hysterical crying stopped at once. I was told to put the severed piece back on the finger, tightly bandaged, and to leave it alone. When we felt it was right to remove the bandage, we found the finger had knit together.
About thirty years ago, while living in the country without a phone, I became suddenly ill with a serious respiratory condition. My husband, who was not a Scientist, became alarmed and went in to town and brought out a doctor. I told him I was a Christian Scientist and did not use medicine.
