PRAYER BEFORE PUBLISHING
II Timothy 2:15, 16
Let me consider well what I would say
before each word leaves facile tongue or pen;
let what I publish humbly point the way
to healing Truth for suffering, seeking men.
Let me discard the venomed word, the vain,
the vacuous prattle that reports no good;
let me exchange the ignorant and profane
for utterances that foster brotherhood.
O let my every word go forth to bless,
like a hand of mercy sheltering a wounded dove,
with soothing gentleness to cure distress!
O let it graciously impart God's love!
Thoughts, Christ inspired, expressing God's compassion,
fulfill our Master's blessed healing mission.
