I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and the daily help I receive from the study and application of its truths. I also wish to thank God for sending Christ Jesus, our Exemplar, and Mrs. Eddy.

One Friday night I went to bed suffering from a severe cold. All night the symptoms continued, and in the morning my condition was just the same. I was still mesmerized by material beliefs. I decided to stay in bed.

As I lay there the questions came to me: "Why are you thinking like this? Why are you acting like this? Have you forgotten what you are?" I knew that health is not a condition of matter but of Mind and that Mind governs the body. I also knew that the place to master error is in our consciousness—in our thinking. I knew that outward conditions are pictures of our inward thinking and that it was my job to change my thinking.
