I have had many healings since I became interested in Christian Science over forty years ago. One healing stands out as the most important from a spiritual standpoint.

In the summer of 1964, my golfing companion lost control of an electric golf cart in which we were riding and catapulted me some twenty yards down a ravine. The impact with the hard ground was severe.

Since I have no wife and had no adequate help at home, I was taken to a hospital. But even before I arrived there in an ambulance, a Christian Science practitioner had been notified and had my situation well in hand through prayer. Upon my arrival at the hospital many X rays were taken—in fact I was twice taken to the X-ray room, as three orthopedic surgeons, who were friends of mine, could not understand how all the broken bones could be so perfectly back in place. It was found that six bones had been broken or shattered, including arm, clavicle, and pelvic bones, and ligaments had been torn.
