It is with deep gratitude that I share the great joy and unfoldment of truth which I have experienced since beginning the study of Christian Science. For a number of years I had known of this way of life, read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, somewhat and found it most helpful. However, the time came when a spinal condition was pronounced inoperable by a medical specialist, and he told me that I would have to face life as a cripple. It was then that I began to study earnestly and indeed to pray constantly, as we are taught in Christian Science, for the spiritually scientific understanding of God that would enable me to live the truths of the Christ constantly and consistently.

Up until this time Mrs. Eddy's teachings had appealed to me as beautiful and pleasant. Now I was learning that they are the way of Life, not to be set aside for one moment nor to be resorted to as a soporific.

All this occurred more than twenty years ago, and not only was the crippling condition healed almost immediately, but our whole family has experienced great spiritual protection and growth, many healings, and much happiness. For myself, aside from the healing mentioned above, which was the turning point in my life, I have had freedom from migraine and chronic colds, from dispositional traits that created a belief of pressure, and from self-justification and a willful desire for human accomplishment without criticism. As these impediments were recognized and as healings of them resulted, the great privilege of class instruction came to me. Only a life remade can reflect my gratitude for this cherished experience.
