I should like to tell of a healing that took place about thirty years ago. I knew nothing of Christian Science when I came to join my husband in this country and was surprised to find he had changed his religion to Christian Science. I decided I was not changing mine, and I did not want to know anything about Science.
However, the time came when we were expecting a baby. The birth was normal. It took place on a Saturday; but the next day I did not see the baby. On asking the reason, I was told I needed lots of rest and that the baby was being cared for. Monday came, and still I did not see the baby.
On Tuesday morning the doctor seated herself by my bedside and started to talk, telling me I had to be brave because the baby could not possibly live. She had a very rare disorder: nothing would stay in her stomach and there were no bowel movements; there was no connection between stomach and bowel. Two surgeons had been in attendance and had considered operating, but after examination had said it was impossible.
