Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on September 25, 1966.

The Lamb is the light thereof (Rev. 21:23)

The word luchnos, here rendered "light," means more strictly "lamp," as Souter reminds us. Compare the translation offered in The Twentieth Century New Testament, "Its Lamp was the Lamb," and that of the American Standard Version, "The lamp thereof is the Lamb."

There shall be no night there (Rev. 21:25)
