I should like to tell how I was introduced to Christian Science
I should like to tell how I was introduced to Christian Science. My knee stiffened, and a lump appeared at the back of my knee. I went to a doctor, and he took X-ray pictures and made several tests.
I have a brother-in-law who is a Christian Scientist. When he saw my condition, he asked me to visit him and speak to a practitioner. Since I was not interested in Christian Science, I just laughed at his request. At that time I was limping around with a cane and could not work.
On my next visit to the doctor I was told that my leg was gangrenous and would have to be amputated. Again my brother-in-law asked me to see a practitioner. My wife and I had three young children, and my family needed me, so I decided to go to a practitioner. My wife and I went to visit her brother, and we attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, with him one Sunday morning. It was our first time in a Christian Science church. There we met the Second Reader, who was a practitioner. We were invited to her home that afternoon and had a very pleasant visit.
