Christian Science has brought many blessings into my life
Christian Science has brought many blessings into my life. From early childhood I was sickly and beset by fears: fear of thunderstorms, fear of darkness, fear that my loved ones would be snatched from me through death. I was surrounded by love; and although my family did all they could to assure me that God loved and protected me, it was of no avail.
I became interested in Christian Science through my husband, and a new world opened for me. One by one my fears disappeared as I studied to gain an understanding of God, of His goodness and love. What a relief it was to gain that "peace of God, which passeth all understanding" (Phil. 4:7) and to be free of tormenting fears!
I had been studying only a few months when the 1929 depression descended upon us, and all we had was suddenly swept away, including our bank accounts. My husband telephoned me and said: "If you should hear unpleasant news, don't be afraid. All is under God's control. He will take care of us."
