Obligation to Mankind
Sometime in the life of every Christian Scientist, there comes the realization that he has an obligation to mankind.
The Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount tell us how we should act, how we should think and live, and show the effect of such thinking and acting on the lives of others. The commands and demands of Christ Jesus leave no doubt that we have a duty and responsibility to our fellowmen.
Many of us are familiar with the words, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received freely give." Matt. 10:8; Since Christian Scientists have freely and fully received, it is their privilege to give. We should not limit our ability to heal and help because we are not in the public practice of Christian Science. Each individual can learn to discipline his thinking, obey simple commands, and express his thought to benefit individuals and the human race.
