The Precious Seed
Within every individual consciousness, although often hidden and unacknowledged, is the precious seed of pure, spiritual thought, which reflects the glories of God's goodness. One's life bears witness to the beauty, harmony, and completeness of real being to the degree that the study and application of Christian Science awaken one to the existent good that his real identity as God's idea includes.
Christ Jesus' parable of the sower explains that the precious seed, the pure thought of true consciousness, is vibrant in goodness and fertile to make human experience fruitful and joyous. The Master taught that everyone who identifies himself with and puts into practice the spiritual qualities that reflect God, divine Mind, proportionately experiences the abundant good of real being. He said, "He that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." Matt. 13:23;
Throughout his healing ministry Jesus taught that the individual who is pure in heart, childlike in thought, and hungry for righteousness awakens to the glories of God's kingdom at hand. He knew that the materialism, sin, pride, and enmity of the carnal mind are weeds that choke the precious seed of pure thought and hinder its fruitage in one's experience. The Master explained simply and profoundly that the rich fruitage of the seed is experienced in the measure that one sheds the errors of human character for his true nature as the image and likeness of God, good. Jesus said, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." 18:3;
