The Atmosphere of Soul

I once read a story of a valley called "The Valley of the Roses." It said that those who passed through this valley could be recognized by the beautiful perfume which clung to them from many thousands of flowers.

To walk continually in the atmosphere of Spirit so that the spirit of God is both felt and recognized by those we meet is an ideal to be cultivated until His presence permeates with blessing and healing all we do and all who cross our path. Moving in this atmosphere of Soul, we find that man's divine nature becomes more apparent, character is enriched, and healings take place spontaneously and naturally.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states in her Message to The Mother Church for 1900, "As in the floral kingdom odors emit characteristics of tree and flower, a perfume or a poison, so the human character comes forth a blessing or a bane upon individuals and society." ^{'00., p. 8;} How important that we do not consciously or unconsciously inhale or exhale the characteristics of the carnal, or mortal, mind, but that we imbibe the characteristics of the Christ, the true idea of God and manifest their healing balm to all who will accept them!
