A healing for which I am grateful occurred while I was serving as First Reader in a branch church. One Wednesday morning while I was at work, sudden and severe symptoms of a cold began to manifest themselves, growing worse as the day progressed. However, I did not accept any thought of not being able to conduct the testimony meeting that evening. All day the Bible account of Nehemiah's rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem was uppermost in my thought. There simply was no time to come down from the wall of Truth to error's level. I too felt that I was "doing a great work" (Neh. 6:3).

When the time came for the service to begin, the physical condition had not changed. It was as if error accompanied me to, but not through, the door. As I walked onto the platform, Truth, God, was triumphant, for I was gloriously free. When I stepped to the desk to announce the first hymn, my voice was clear and my appearance normal. Words could not express the joy which filled my heart to be "doing a great work."

For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for the opportunity of service in the branch church, for the practitioners who have so kindly helped me along the way, and for the great blessing of class instruction, I am truly grateful.
