One day an inharmonious condition developed that steadily grew worse until it reached the point where I found it very uncomfortable to move about. The persistent pain in my head and neck was almost unbearable at times, and accompanying this difficulty was an aggravation in my chest. This went on for approximately two months. During that time I was being given treatment by a devoted Christian Science practitioner, and I found it continually necessary to cling steadfastly not only to the truths of man's real self that she relayed to me but also to those that I had learned over the years from my own study of Mrs. Eddy's works. And I shall never forget the feeling of peace that came to me frequently while listening to the often repeated playing of records of Mrs. Eddy's hymns, and of readings from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

All this while, I am grateful to say, the sustaining influence of Truth kept me from being absent from performing the duties of First Reader in a branch church, even though at times I went directly from bed to my appointed post. Preceding the services there was much prayerful preparation by the practitioner and myself, and I later learned that the congregation was never aware of the difficulty, which was finally completely healed.

But that was not all. When the healing was complete, I became aware that eczema, which had bothered me for some years on one of my legs, had vanished.
