What a privilege it is to testify to the healing power of Christian Science! In the Bible we read (Prov. 3:5, 6): "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine, own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." If Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy had not been placed in my hands to read, I might never have heeded this sound advice.

Since I have taken up the study of Christian Science, many blessings have been mine. I have been led into interesting and rewarding work; I have experienced undoubted protection during extensive traveling; and I have received bountiful supply from unexpected sources.

Complete reliance on God brought about a physical healing at one time when I was faced with very trying circumstances in my home which caused much wrong thinking on my part. A boil appeared on one of my legs, giving me severe pain, and I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me. One day I felt I could bear the pain no longer, and in the grip of fear I walked into a doctor's surgery. As I sat in the waiting room and overheard dire predictions and other depressing talk between several waiting patients about their ailments, I asked myself what I, a Christian Scientist, was doing in such an atmosphere of darkness when I had over a number of years been walking in paths of glorious light and freedom. I left the surgery immediately; but fear again overwhelmed me, and I was back there within twenty-four hours. This time I felt great compassion for the people as I heard them discuss their troubles; I began to pray and to realize for all mankind the very presence of God and the power of Spirit over the flesh.
