To handle a problem, but to handle it as nothing, was proven to me to be very important in the healing of disease. For some time there had been a growth on my nose, but because it was such a small size and not noticeable, I ignored it. One day I found it had almost doubled in size and had become quite uncomfortable. When a dear one observed this and mentioned it to me, I knew I must get busy and do something about it in Christian Science.
Opening the Bible to Ecclesiastes I read (3:14), "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it." Then turning to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I read (p. 321): "When, led by wisdom to cast down his rod, he saw it become a serpent, Moses fled before it; but wisdom bade him come back and handle the serpent, and then Moses' fear departed. In this incident was seen the actuality of Science. Matter was shown to be a belief only."
I held to these truths and carefully watched to see that I was expressing God in thought and deed, and in a short time the growth fell off. The gratitude and joy which welled up in my heart can never be expressed in words. To see Truth work was even more important than the healing itself.
