Our Continuous Employment
One of the problems of mankind is to find satisfactory human occupation. Men often suffer either from overwork or from shortage of work; they are worried by responsibility or by the pressure arising from shortage of time.
The outlook of those who are troubled about their work would be changed if they understood and tried to emulate Christ Jesus, who said, "I am among you as he that serveth." Luke 22:27; The Master taught that true service is unselfish giving. When this teaching is rightly understood and practiced, the concept of one's activity is purified.
We learn in Christian Science that man is made in God's image and likeness, as the Bible states. This real man is always actively expressing the nature and attributes of God, Mind. The work of expressing God is not subject to unfair competition, for one idea of God does not compete with another. All of His children have the same opportunity to share in this work, which is continuous.
