The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on June 5, 1966.
He telleth the number of the stars (Ps. 147:4)
The verb "tell" is used in a wide variety of meanings, including not only to talk, chat, recognize or reveal, but also to calculate or to count. Hence the telling of the stars could well refer to their counting. Smith has, "He determines," and Moffatt. "He fixes."
Who hath...meted out heaven with the span (Isa. 40:12)
