"This is life eternal"

There is much speculation in scientific circles about the possibility of creating life in the laboratory. Extensive research is going on, and physical scientists feel that they are on the verge of a breakthrough in this line of development. But a persistent question hangs over all these proceedings: "How do you define life? Just about a year ago in a discussion of the possibility of finding life on Mars, a professor from Yale University said, "There is yet no formal statement of what life is."

We can rest assured that someone has defined life properly. Jesus knew Life as God. By overcoming death for others and for himself he proved the indestructibility of life which reflects God. He overcame every phase of limitation and healed all manner of disease. He finally rose above the material sense of existence, beyond the grasp of the physical senses. Who could have greater authority to define Life than he who demonstrated the eternality of Life? When we learn that Life is not a material process or a physical function, we shall understand that it cannot be created in a laboratory. Only as we discover the nature of Life as Spirit do we gain dominion over the suffering and limitations of human existence. If we start from a material basis, we are operating on the same foundation that causes the limitation and suffering. Paul said, "To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Rom. 8:6;
