I have been a member of The Mother Church for about fifty-eight years, joining in 1903. Losing my husband and my baby sometime before that was more than I felt I could bear. My aunt, living in Boston, encouraged me to come to Boston and study music, and she found a room for me about two blocks from The Mother Church. The Church chimes were so beautiful they drew me into the Church one Sunday morning.
The first time I went to the Church, I fell very strange, but the hymns appealed to me and I kept going and began to study Science and soon had my first healing, which was of poor eyesight. I was able to discard glasses which I had worn for five years. I had been told I would go blind.
Also I took off braces I had worn for a weak back. In two weeks after I turned humbly to a dedicated practitioner for treatment, I was healed. I regained my happiness too, and later I was healed of pneumonia and of the susceptibility to colds—I don't know what a cold is anymore.
