Let Us Claim Our Heritage
In our human experience if we were to receive word that we had inherited a vast fortune, would we sit apathetically by, reading and rereading the letter, declaring how beautiful it was? Not at all. We would take all the steps necessary to claim this heritage, and we would take them at once, with vigor and persistence.
So it is with our spiritual heritage. We must claim it, and the wise claimant will establish his claim at once. He will insist on the truth that the Apostle John declared, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God." I John 3:2; This is but one example of many others in the Bible that refer to the teaching of man's sonship with God. Paul wrote, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ." Rom. 8:16, 17;
Our sonship with God, our heritage, is purely a spiritual relationship. It is the reality of infinite and divine being, which cannot be denied us. The mists of material sense can hide it only when we allow such false sense to becloud Christlike thinking.
