I have found earnest study of the right material to be as effective...
I have found earnest study of the right material to be as effective today as it was in the earliest days of Christianity. The Apostle Paul admonished his friend Timothy (II Tim. 2:15), "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
In like manner Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, counsels her followers in Science and Health (p. 559): "Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it. It will be indeed sweet at its first taste, when it heals you; but murmur not over Truth, if you find its digestion bitter."
We shall find the answer to our problems not in murmuring over Truth but in studying, pondering, and praying for the light and understanding of Truth.
