I should like to express my gratitude for the teachings of Christian Science...

I should like to express my gratitude for the teachings of Christian Science and for all the blessings it has brought to me and mine over many years. The knowledge that this demonstrable truth is ever available to meet every need is a constant source of comfort. A demonstration I had illustrates that no matter where one is, God's truth, or the Science of Christ, is ever present.

On a visit to the United States I flew from Los Angeles to San Francisco and on arrival was disturbed to find my baggage missing. The loss was immediately reported to the airline, and the necessary forms were filled in. Since the bag contained my copies of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I felt it wise to ring a Christian Science practitioner for help. I was told that material books were not necessary, under such circumstances, for prayerful, metaphysical work.

This was evident throughout the night as I recalled many passages from the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy. The next morning I visited a Christian Science Reading Room;here I was able to spend a few quiet hours in study and prayer and at the same time purchase copies of the missing books.
