Church Dedications
Progress Bulletin, May 19, 1965
Dedication of the edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Pomona, is planned at three services Sunday. The dedication services at 11 a.m. and 3 and 7:30 p.m. will mark the liquidation of all indebtedness for the church at 1665 North San Antonio Avenue. The uniquely designed auditorium and related buildings have been under development since 1955.
The dedication also will mark a milestone in the Christian Science movement in the Pomona Valley which began here 65 years ago. Christian Science Society, Pomona, was recognized in April of 1900 by The Mother Church in Boston. Massachusetts. Services were held in the Odd Fellows Building, the McComas Building, and the Cooperative Hall during its first two years of existence.
