Christianity Includes Physical Exemption

In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy makes this statement: "If we are Christians on all moral questions, but are in darkness as to the physical exemption which Christianity includes, then we must have more faith in God on this subject and be more alive to His promises." Science and Health, p. 373;

The Bible contains many promises of mankind's exemption from all evil. The ninety-first Psalm brings out the condition which one must fulfill to claim such exemption: "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." Ps. 91:9,10;

The Bible also contains many instances in which this eternal truth was claimed and the exemption or immunity received. At the time the children of Israel were struggling for freedom from slavery in Egypt, the plague of death for the firstborn son swept through the land of Egypt one night, leaving no house of the Egyptians untouched. The Israelites, however, experienced the protection of God's promise, "Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." Why did they escape the plague? Because of their willingness to follow God's commands as given to Moses, their leader.
