Christian Science was presented to me at the end of World War II

Christian Science was presented to me at the end of World War II. I loved the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and could not put it down; but for some time I did not see the need to practice Science.

The smoking habit, which I had never liked, was given up, as was social drinking, and I was later healed of tea drinking. New employment was found when this verse from Exodus was studied (23:20): "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared." Through further unfoldment I have learned that this place is always a state of consciousness, the preparation of which is through prayer, through listening for and obeying angels, "God's thoughts passing to man" (Science and Health, p. 581).

Soon after marriage I joined The Mother Church and a branch church. I am deeply grateful that I had some small understanding of Science before the births of our three children. All the problems that arose at those times were solved. The three children have had very quick healings of so-called children's diseases, of undiagnosed rashes and fevers, and of bee-stings. About seven years ago one boy awoke with a violent earache. I took him into my bed and tried to know the unreality of pain. I felt impelled to ring up a practitioner, though it was around midnight. I lay down but as the boy lifted himself up to scream, both the pain and the scream faded away. The healing was instantaneous and complete.
