THE ATTIC ROOM
(At Lynn where Mary Baker Eddy wrote Science and Health)
O little
room, forever blest,
And, like the stable, almost bare,
Serene in your simplicity—
With table, Book, and rocking chair:
Here faint light fell from overhead
On one who penned at Truth's dictation
The message of God's holy Word—
Complete and final revelation.
While light far greater than the sun
Shone round about her from above,
With inspiration's holy flame,
She wrote about a God of love,
Of Comforter that knows no sin
But holds man upright, pure and free.
O little room, forever blest,
You witnessed Truth's sublimity!
