RADIO PROGRAM No. 205 - Guidance Young People Can Depend Upon

ANNOUNCER: All young people, at one time or other, feel the need for guidance or direction. Often they feel they are not really understood and aren't sure the advice they get from parents or teachers is reliable.

QUESTIONER: Many young people nowadays feel that most of the decisions they have to make are a matter of guesswork. Decisions that can change the whole direction of their lives, such as the choice of a college or a career, often seem to depend more upon luck or chance than on guidance or direction. What do you think about this?

SPEAKER: I think that young people need a higher source of guidance than human opinions and the tests that they take—the aptitude tests and scholastic tests. The guidance they get from parents and from teachers is as constructive as their elders know how to make it.
